Our last morning in London, we got up with our bags already packed and sorted for the day. Matt was able to get us a reservation to take a tour through Westminster Abbey, and it really was awesome. The boys did great with the headsets and seemed to enjoy going through the guided tour.
It was amazing to see all the memorial graves of different kings and queens as well as famous people. But the architecture of the church was absolutely amazing. It was so very beautiful!
The checked tile floor! and the pews on the side! And the ceiling...!
We went upstairs to the exhibits to see more artifacts, but you weren't allowed to use your camera to take pictures. I learned this after taking a picture of this beautiful window.
We left Westminster and realized we still had not had a sausage roll! Mr. Dalton told us they were one of his favorites, and we never saw the shop he had mentioned. So we looked again and realized there was one down in the tube station just at this location. We had a hard time finding it, but we persevered! It was a great last snack before we got a lift to the airport.
The last purchase of the trip was this banana bucket hat that James wanted. He had seen a cookie monster one or some other pattern during the beginning of our trip, and I asked him to wait. So, his last request we gave in and got him one. It would be a fashion choice that we regretted allowing, but find absolutely hilarious in hindsight!
Since James had a new hat, he let David wear his Star Wars hat with his new Tottenham T-shirt. One last 'London face' from Hayden, and we were off the that airport and on our way home!
Thank you Lord for the incredible trip! Thank you for our safety and for helping us sort out our way. Thank you Lord for the wonderful memories we made and all the lovely things we got to do and see. Thank you for providing us with this opportunity to fulfill some dreams I'd had for years. Thank you Lord for my generous husband who spoiled me incredibly with his decision to take us all on this adventure to celebrate my 40th birthday. I never would have dreamed that is what we would be doing! Thank you for your graciousness to me Lord, Amen.
