The beginning of August came, and we decided to soak in one summer night at our favorite seafood place in town: Safe Harbor Seafood. The lighting was so good, that I wanted to get pictures of all the boys' eyes. They are each so beautiful and unique, and they remind me of different family members. Calvin's are like my sister Michelle's, Hayden's are like my sister Christina's, James' are like Matt's, and David's are most like mine but not quite the same, could be a little bit like my mother's.
Had to get Matt&I's to see the comparison.
It still brings me deep senes of peace and joy to see all four of my boys playing together and sitting so closely. It reminds me of when they were little.
It was a big day for Hayden and David. They both started their orthodontic care; Hayden for braces and David for a spacer in the roof of his mouth. Poor Hayden had to start with tongue tamers and elastic to pull his teeth together on one side. What a tough way to start 7th grade, and I had no idea what I was doing when I agreed. Poor kid couldn't talk!
We got to go to OPE for the Meet the Teacher orientation. David had Mrs. Doughtery for 2nd Grade and Calvin had Mrs. White as his homeroom teacher for 5th grade.
Calvin and David will both have Mrs. Rauth for their ES classes.
The first day of school is always exciting! I try to tease the boys just a little while taking their picture, so I can get a picture that captures a true smile. I love to keep at least one silly one for the fun of it.
In the tradition we started for James' 7th grade year, I enjoy taking the boys to Grumpy's on the first and last day of school. They start so much later, so it really gives us plenty of time. Taking their picture helps me remember that I didn't forget to take them. The banana bucket hat made the first day of school pictures!
Both of my boys at Lakeside Junior High School. Still seems so strange to me that they are done with elementary!
Hayden playing some rocket league before school. He loves this middle school schedule, haha.
Us at the soccer fields, as we are always. The boys climbing the tree in the middle and poor Hayden getting used to his orthodontics.
Last project we got done at the beginning of school: New cubbie bookcases for Hayden, Calvin and David's rooms. We reorganized Hayden's room, and I really liked it better. I really loved how Calvin's new room set up looked. James got a new desk for his Lego from Mr. Dalton and Mrs. Ann (that Mr. Dalton had made), so Calvin got James' old desk. These new room designs have really been great.
Thank you Lord for our last little bit of summer. Thank you for a happy start to school and for gettin the boys' rooms organized and ready. Thank you for our home and how comfortable we are in it. Thank you for the soccer field and how much time we spend there. Thank you for this one life and for these memories.
