May 2024

May sneaks up on me every year filled with lots of end of the year stresses and lists and activities and tryouts. But the end of the year has so many gems: accomplishments, graduations, completion of seasons, and last days. I find that at the changing of the schedule is much like the changing of the seasons; the summer is looked forward to for the relief it offers from the pressure of the school year. The end of soccer season is anticipated just as much as the beginning for similar reasons. We love the opportunities to play and compete and cheer the boys on, and we are so grateful for the rest when the season is done. The changing of the guard is what May feels like to me; we welcome the dramatic shift in the pace of our lives.

Young Life 5K with friends :-)

These boys and their shenanigans

One of the prettiest bouquets I've ever had. Gosh the peonies and eucalyptus together are amazing, but these white/pink peonies just ruffled out like a never ending procession.

Grandpa sometimes has to show those grand boys their place. His birthday and Mother's Day coincide every year, and we enjoy getting to celebrate both with the Proses.

This Mother's Day was extra special because Max was baptized in Grandpa and Mimi's pool.

These goofy sweet school assignments for mother's day never get old. I love them all!

End of the season soccer banquet for our brother teammates. I hope it is as good a memory for my boys as it is for me getting to watch them play together. Probably none of their brothers will get to do that!

Calvin and David getting to pie Mr. Harris in the face. I can't remember why he agreed to that!

Second grade aquarium classroom project. David made the whale on the ceiling.

End of the year junior high awards night.

Grammy and Papa came to visit for Memorial Day weekend. I love doing a good height check! When the boys grow so much between visits, it really takes me back to see how much they've grown. James officially taller than Papa.

End of the year awards ceremony for Calvin 5th grade.

Last day of school for the boys!! I love our junior high tradition of going out for Grumpy's on the first and last day of school.

Lord thank you for a great year for all the boys. Thank you for protecting them and helping them grow. I am so proud of the young men they are becoming. It is a very humbling experience to watch. Thank you for your provision to us! Give us and them wisdom to make good decisions for their futures. Amen.
