September started with what has become our annual Labor Day Soccer Tournament in Jacksonville, but we also got to celebrate Mimi's birthday at the beach! They came over and rented a house, and we got to spend a good bit of time together despite how many soccer games the boys played. We spent one night in this house, and Mimi saw a shark swimming below the deck in the water. That sounds crazy until you realize this house is built up almost on top of the surf, and today this house doesn't exist after the last hurricane. It really was built waaay to close to the ocean.
Hayden's team won their bracket & got a medal and trophy.
One of Hayden's birthday gifts from Grammy&Papa this year was a magazine subscription. He really enjoyed these each month!
Halloween costumes are something I try to get ordered in September every year, so we don't have things that we can't get or have prices go up. I usually order online! These were such a bit hit - immediate yes from all the boys. James loved being a Jurassic dinosaur, and all these little blow ups were so funny to watch waddle down the street.
We said goodbye to our fun red jeep. She was awesome there for a few years!
My friend Brit & I went to Chamblin's bookmine to hunt old copies of Agatha Christie's books. Here is more evidence of my super fun hobby.
I also found this set of Narnia that was identical to the one my mother read to me when I was a girl. I had to buy!
Matt's axis deer antlers found their home over our bed, and I do really love it. Also, I bought a new rug for my dining room. I just didn't love the old one. The new one I also don't love, but sometimes it worth the try!
I couldn't help but take a picture of my puppy all comfy in James' bed.
My sweet YL campaginers!! These were my last group of girls, and they are pretty awesome.
My last crud war!
Grammy & Papa came in town for the Jaguar vs. Denver Broncos game. It was our birthday gift to Grammy! They brought the boys all Treezyn camo pullovers, and they looked so cute.
We got a parking spot and set up our tailgate. We had an awesome time at the game together! I don't even remember who won.
Hermione wanted to give Grammy an hug. She's such a sweet dog!
We ended September in a big way with a Dude Perfect show and Hayden's 10th birthday. It was really captivating for the boys, and we grown ups enjoyed ourselves too. Mimi made Hayden a special cake, and he played paintball with his friends for his party. Lucky for us, it is warm in September! We have only done paintball with James in January when it has been so cold!!
The boys got high fives from this dude perfect guy, he's one of the twins so I couldn't tell you his name.
Mimi made these amazing cookies and this outstanding little cake for Hayden! She even found colored candles that are different colors when you light them!
Random picture of James recreating a tower he had made years prior to this photo. I thought it was pretty fun that this build stuck out in his mind and it deserved to live again.
Lord what an incredible month! We saw both our parents and made some really special memories while celebrating birthdays. Thank you for the gift of our family & time together. Amen!
