After our big adventure to England, the rest of our summer felt very normal. Still wonderful to sleep in and visit our friends and family! Summer camps were still coming up, and that is a highlight for the boys too. We were especially happy to snuggle with Hermione when we got home!
Hayden had a farewell swim party with his buddy Noah at one of the Eagle Harbor pools, and his brothers all came to swim too. It was not an easy thing to have this friend move away, and we all were going to miss him.
I think the boys all went running with me this day. I don't remember why, but the group selfie is a classic.
We got a chance to go visit our friends the Zepps! This summer, instead of doing a sleepover swap, we decided to just have one sleepover for all of us. Lindy and I love seeing the boys, but we really enjoy having time together too! These boys have all gotten so much more grown, and it seems like a shock every summer.
We took the boys to the rock climbing gym for fun, and David was all over the place! I was impressed. All the boys had fun and did great. It was a nice summer time activity since it was inside and helped get some energy out. We left for home after the gym was done; until next time!
I usually try to have a week up at my Mom&Dad's farm in Georgia every summer. It doesn't always last a whole week, but while Matt is working it is a fun thin to do during the week. The farm always has fun things to do, and the boys love going to ride the go cart, build forts in the woods, have a gel blaster fight, drive Papa's racing game, watch movies during the thunderstorms, and go fishing down at their pond. You couldn't ask for a better summer! and Grammy cooking for us is always so nice!
We helped Papa photograph some new merchandise for his company Treezyn. James, Hayden and I modeled some new fishing/boating clothing. We brought our kayak and stand up paddle board from home, and got out on the pond. The dogs came too, and we had so much fun. But, there are leeches in this pond we discovered! So no more getting in this water.
We got home and it was time to go to Tampa for Word of Life camp week! Hayden's friend Noah came with us since his family had packed up their house and were driving up to Tennessee.
We had a little surprise for Grandpa when we got into town! It was Grandpa's retirement Sunday from his church in Elfers, and Matt's brothers organized a surprise dinner for him. He didn't know that everyone was coming into town for his last Sunday morning at his church, but I'm so glad we all did! It was a special time. Here we are at a little seafood place having dinner by the water. Surprise Grandpa!
Thank you Lord for a wonderful month full of travel, friends, and family. We are grateful for the break from school and the chance to spend more time together. It is a blessing. Amen!
