Yes August!

August seems like a quick month. The busyness of 'back to school' and the beginning of all the schedule changes make the time move so quickly. Thank you Lord for the change of pace that is exciting when it slows down and when it ramps up!

We started out with James trying out for junior high football. I was really thankful that he got cut actually, because he was also signed up to play club soccer. Doing two sports, especially when football is so physical, would be very difficult. Thankful for his courage to try something new, and for his opportunity to see what it was like.

David and his buddy Grady got to spend some time together to play before school started. They are such easy, fun friends. A fishing game and some swimming and they were happy as little clams just doing whatever.

We planned our final Zepp/Prose sleepover for the summer with David & Atlus camping out in a tent in his room. They were so cute in their little sleeping bags!

Calvin and Hayden went down to stay at their house this time around, and I only have this one goofy picture of James and Mag before they said goodbye. They already seem so grown up!

Take your son to work day? James got to go and be 'assistant' to his Dad one day when he had to answer a page. He was official looking in his scrubs.

Daddy took Calvin and Hayden to see the Jumbo Shrimp play on night. I don't remember why we all didn't go, but I love seeing them sitting in the seats with their gloves on. Gotta be ready to catch that fly ball!

Camryn stopped by to see David and me (and maybe the other boys too, ha!). She has a special place in her heart for David since she kept him for me while I did the long term sub job the Fall of 2019 when he was 3 years old. I remember she always says how much he's grown!

The morning did arrive for the first day of school. It feels so far away and so close all at the same time. Here they are: 1st grade; 4th grade; 6th grade; 7th grade. David's second year at school, but not all his brothers are at school with him anymore. :-(

My favorite safety patrol, Hayden!

David and Mrs. Bowie! Calvin and Mrs. Scotta.

I got to take James to breakfast after dropping off his little brothers. It is nice that junior high starts later in the day. Grumpy's had a special for a cinnamon roll pancake. He only regretted it a little! It was really sweet.

Hayden had his birthday party the first Friday of school, and he got one of is birthday gifts just in time: his Tottenham kit, Harry Kanew. His party was a swimming, pizza and mini bundt cakes. Mimi had just had knee surgery, and we worried about her standing too long while working on a cake. We do so love having Mimi make cakes for us!

Love these goofy boys!

I think Mimi is playing video games with the boys - what a good sport!

The boys started back at soccer. David got to start the academy, so he got the cool new uniform too. I had to snap a picture of them.

And what do you know, four boys in one inner tube!

I got to go celebrate with my sweet friend Victoria! Her baby shower was so sweet and fun, and I was so excited for her! She was so beautiful.

Thank you Lord for the new beginning that August brought. Sometimes change is scary, but I am thankful for the days that go smoothly. Thank you for the hard days too - the stress of preparation and the unknown. Thank you Lord for always providing for us. Amen.
