July 2020

Oh man, so many many pictures from July! I think I took more than normal because I was so happy to be able to take pictures that weren't at my house, haha!! But seriously, the boys didn't go to Word of Life summer camp, and we took no anniversary trip, so we kicked off the month of July with anniversary dinner at Palm Valley Fish Camp and took the boys deep sea fishing. It seemed like a great idea! We had a blast, but didn't hardly catch any fish. Thankfully Matt got us all motion sickness patches, so we didn't get sick. The views were beautiful, and our budding fisherman got a taste of what deep sea was like.

James was the only one to catch a fish! Pikachu must have been a good luck charm.

The boys all got to drive- that made up for some of the disappointment of not catching any fish.

Fourth of July calls for an attempt at a cinnamon star with berries & a baked apple tart of some kind. The boys didn't care that they weren't pretty.

Best part of 4th of July? The boys got smoke bombs from Mr. Steve and Hayden had the idea to use the sparklers as special effects. They took tons of pictures of each other- haha I loved this creativity!

Summer calls for new pool floats to keep up the excitement. BB8 was a pretty good one while he lasted.

July was another month of summer soccer practice to make up for our spring season getting cancelled. Being at the field was a great routine for us, and it really made the summer more fun to get to be around other kids for a little while.

Me testing out portrait mode on my phone. Why not? Such good looking little models.

Just some funny moments- My new mirror & view from my bathroom. Or maybe I was documenting getting dressed in something not athletic gear. Me on the Peloton, capturing all my boys doing some kind of yoga dog pile. It is silly and funny, but also I am so glad they play and wrestle and enjoy being together. Crazy, wild, silly boys. They are the best.

We drove our Jeep out on the beach for a little evening sand&surf. I actually found a white shark tooth- which was very surprising!! The only white one I've ever found, & the only tooth I've ever found at Crescent beach.

We got to go to Church in person! We wore our masks and sat distanced from others, and it was good. I was a bit nervous, and it felt really weird. But sometimes you just gotta give things a try.

The boys told me this Lego Rex was me, with my four eggs. You can't make this stuff up, and you can't beat it.

Beach day with some of our favorites!! The Zepps! We did a child swap, and I got to have the big boys at my house this time. Such a fun thing to do together, and my boys absolutely love getting to go to their house.

Reunited and it feels so good. Four boys, one dog, and one daddy. I knew the king size bed was going to become more of a necessity!

The Zepps and us at Washington Oak state park. Such a fun place to explore.

My 'Lily' bracelets. We made them as a group activity for a going away party. I loved wearing these and thinking of my young life girl after she moved away, and it was a great reminder to pray for her. I hope she knew how loved she was!

Summer birthdays are tough & so were covid birthdays. So we came up with something fun to do on Hayden's birthday: indoor go cart track! These were some serious go carts. The boys had an absolute blast once they got used to how to drive it.

The sweetest moments: when Calvin reads to David at bedtime, after teeth get brushed and neither have decided to sleep in pjs, haha. Dogman has been one of Calvin's favorites!

Back to online church for a Sunday, because we were leaving for our family beach trip!! My Mom and Dad came with us, and Matt's Mom and Dad came as well. It was an absolutely lovely, fantastic time. SO many sharks teeth and so many pictures!

The basement set up is the best. Double bunkbeds and a tv area perfect for video games.

Happy happy birthday Hayden!!

A hoverboard!?!? This is is wild, and he was so good at it.

Hayden's brothers all decorated his gifts with brown paper and colored pictures for him.

Matt Prose, making surfing look so good.

We got dressed up and went out to dinner for the fun of it! Hayden asked for tortellini so we went to an Italian place. Not exactly what he wanted, but it was a good time.

Happy Happy 9th birthday Hayden!!! We love you buddy. You're goofy, so funny, super athletic, and you bring the party. We all love your company, and you make everything better.

Off shore fishing for Daddy's birthday!! This was way more successful and way more fun.

Hayden fought the good fight on this ray but it got away in the shallows. So exciting!

Everybody is hunting shark teeth now!

One of my favorite pictures of these boys.

Lord, thank you for shark's teeth and how much fun they are to find. Let us hunt beauty and glory all the days of our lives- let us recognize it as your beauty. Thank you for all the glory we were able to soak in during those days. We needed it desperately, and you gave us more than we could even take in. Thank you for Hayden and Matt's birthdays and our years together. We are grateful, we don't even know how grateful we are to be able to be together. Lord you are good and you do good. Teach us your decrees. Amen.
